A Guide to Choosing the Right Shape and Size

Laminate countertops come in a number of standard depth options, for a broad range of applications. The basics, of course, are 22.5 inches deep for vanity/bathroom countertops and 25.5 inches deep for standard kitchen countertops, both with and without an integrated backsplash. But your depth options don’t end there. Bar tops (which come with a profiled edge on both long sides) are available for standard kitchen cabinet island and peninsula configurations with no extra overhang (26 ¾ deep), a snacking bar overhang (32” deep), or a seated dining overhang (36” deep). Bar tops can also be used for desks, tables, and meeting counters, or really any application where the top will not be against a wall. These additional depths can also have the back edge trimmed off to make deep countertops to go over washers and dryers, to be used in craft rooms, or for other office or commercial applications. Swift Countertops is also equipped to provide custom bar depths and a range of custom cut options. Just drop us an email and we would be pleased to help find a laminate top that will fit your specific needs.
